    Larry Bradshaw, president of the Downtown Neighborhood Association, an organization that advocates for people living downtown, has sent a letter to the Des Moines City Council saying that he supports a proposed Hy-Vee Inc. grocery store at Fourth Street and Court Avenue.

    With spending on public construction showing a significant rebound, the U.S. Commerce Department said that total U.S. construction spending rose by more than analysts had anticipated in October.

    In his recent newsletter, residential real estate veteran Les Sulgrove points out that consumer confidence is on the rise, monthly pending sales of houses are climbing a tad and the number of total home sales are increasing. Then he asks this question: Why haven't sellers figured out that this is the best time for them to have their homes on the market?
