A website for land hounds

The city of Waukee received high marks for its planning and rollout of the Kettlestone development area that stretches from University Avenue south to Interstate 80.
An element of all that work was the creation of a website that keeps residents and prospective developers aware of all the work in progress in the 1,500-acre area.
A feature of the website is a listing of properties that are available, services that are available, ownership, asking prices and planned uses for the properties.
"We've had a positive response from everyone we've shown it to, Waukee Economic Development Director Dan Dutcher said. "Until we get the interchange under construction and closer to being open, I don't know that we're going to get a lot of hits on it."
Construction on that I-80 interchange is expected to begin in one month to six weeks, with an anticipated completion in December 2105.
If you're a land hound, or just like to look at colorful maps, the Kettlestone properties site is available here.
