Construction spending increased in February

Construction spending in February grew 1.2 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $885.1 billion, the U.S. Commerce Department said today. The growth was faster than the 1 percent forecast in a MarketWatch-compiled poll, and spending was 7.9 percent stronger than February 2012, MarketWatch reported. Residential construction spending grew 2 percent on the month.
