Metro-area foreclosures decreased in September over the same period last year, according to a report today from real estate analytics firm CoreLogic Inc. Foreclosures among outstanding mortgages stood at 1.82 percent in September, down from 1.89 percent in August and 2.47 percent in September 2012. The current Greater Des Moines rate was lower than the national rate of 2.29 percent, CoreLogic said. The number of loans that were 90 days or more delinquent also declined in the metro area, dropping to 3.71 percent from 4.38 percent a year ago.
