Greater Des Moines added 2,000 construction jobs in the year ending April 30, accounting for nearly half of the jobs added in the state over the period, according to the Associated General Contractors of America. Overall, Iowa added 4,500 construction workers to payrolls. The Council Bluffs-Omaha area added 600, while Cedar Rapids gained 300 jobs. Construction employment dropped by 100 workers in the Quad-Cities.
