By the end of the 10-day run of the Home Builders Association of Greater Des Moines'  Home Show Expo at The Ridge at Echo Valley, the 11 tony houses, ranging in price from $500,000 to nearly $1 million, were sold or spoken for. Some 11,578 people viewed the homes, beating a pre-expo estimate of 8,000, and that's not counting folks who received special invitations or worked as volunteers. The numbers are pleasing to Creighton Cox, executive officer of the home builders group. "We had an outstanding show," he said.  Jerry Bussanmas' Pure Style was judged best of show in a formal competition, and Neighborhood Homes received the Pella Windows and Doors People Choice Award in a vote that was tallied as visitors left the expo. The event will celebrate its 40th year in 2015, when the expo will be hosted by DRA Properties LC at The Estates at Prairie Trail in Ankeny.
