A national real estate tracking firm said
Greater Des Moines house prices increased 4.6 percent in the year ending in
July. Excluding the sale of distressed properties, such as those owned by
banks, prices increased 6 percent, CoreLogic Inc. said today. Nationally,
prices increased 12.4 percent, including distressed properties. Prices
increased the most in states including Arizona, California and Nevada that
experienced the brunt of the housing crisis, CoreLogic said.
