Orchestrate Hospitality’s restaurant at the new Des Moines Social Club will offer “Nuevo Latino” cuisine, the company announced today.

The new restaurant, called Malo, will serve Latin foods found throughout the Americas, including Mexican, Cuban, South American and Tex-Mex.

Chef George Formaro said in a press release that the name, which technically means “bad,” was chosen to bring a sense of “irreverent fun”  and mischievousness to the restaurant.

The restaurant, which was announced last week, will be located at the Social Club’s new firehouse location at 10th and Mulberry streets, and is scheduled to open next spring.
