About me:

I joined the Business Record in September 2011 and plan to bring some female perspective to the publication.

Originally from sunny and warm Tampa, Fla., I graduated from the University of Florida with degrees in journalism and classical studies – Go Gators! After having little luck with the Florida job market, I made a big move to Washington D.C. where I interned at the Student Press Law Center, a non-profit that advocates for student press rights.

I fell in love with the city and decided to extend my stay. I spent about nine months working for NPR as an intern and then as an assistant web producer for NPR.org. While working at NPR, I learned that a good news story is more than just informative, it's interesting and fun to read.

I’m a political junkie, a nonstop talker and an avid reader – all things that attracted me to journalism in the first place. I’m excited to make Des Moines my new home but I'm not quite ready to face an Iowa winter.

Have a story idea? Want to meet for coffee? Never hesitate to reach out, just give me a call or send me an e-mail.
