Connect Iowa today released new data showing that broadband adoption in Iowa surpasses the national average. Seventy-six percent of Iowa households subscribed to broadband service in 2013, up from 66 percent in 2010, the organization said. By comparison, the national adoption rate for broadband was 70 percent last year, an increase from 66 percent in 2012. Mobile broadband usage also has grown in Iowa. More than half of Iowa adults (53 percent) use mobile broadband service. Broadband adoption will be one of the key issues addressed during the state's second annual Broadband Summit on June 16 in Ankeny.
