More than 65 technology professionals are spending a two-day period helping nine local nonprofit organizations build technology solutions. The event, called dsmHack, started Thursday evening at StartupCity Des Moines, and will end with presentations on Saturday at 5 p.m. Tech professionals from more than 15 companies heard pitches from the nonprofits, formed teams, and are now working on tech-related projects. The nonprofits involved are the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Urban Ambassadors, Community Youth Concepts, Beat Cancer, Youth Emergency Services & Shelter, the Des Moines Social Club, Chrysalis Foundation, the Young Women's Resource Center and Tech Journey.
