UI entrepreneur to represent U.S. in global competition

Entrepreneurs' Organization has named University of Iowa student Matthew Rooda winner of the 2017 Global Student Entrepreneur Awards U.S. National Finals. An EO program, the global competition is for students who own and operate a for-profit business while attending college. Rooda won for his company, SwineTech Inc., which develops technology to reduce pre-wean mortality rates and improve herd health on sow farms. As the national winner, Rooda received a $10,000 cash prize and will attend the GSEA global finals in Frankfurt, Germany, in April to represent the United States in competing against the top student entrepreneurs from throughout the world.
