    The Skywalk DSM app -- created ahead of the opening rounds of the 2016 NCAA men’s basketball tournament to avoid confusion on the downtown skywalk system because several loops were closed due to construction -- has been selected for an International Downtown Association Certificate of Merit award within the “Leadership and Management” category, according to a release from the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

    But the California-based tech giant is just the latest in a string of companies of varying sizes and sectors that are eager to locate in Iowa, where they can easily brag about “sustainability” and renewable energy.
