    Mark Lanning’s reputation as a computer scientist spread across the plains and landed with a Denver-based company that was translating images to data for farm research. The result was the merger in March of Lanning’s Goldfinch Technologies LLC, which created data processing software for the agriculture industry with RoboFlight Systems LLC.

    Creston native Nile Cornelison spent his younger years coaxing more horsepower out of the hot rods he modified for himself and other drag-racers in the 1960s and ‘70s. In 1982, he shifted gears to launch Direct Communications Inc. And since then, he has fine-tuned the Urbandale-based data clearinghouse into an industry leader in the performance automotive and accessories industry.
