Rockwell Collins Inc. today reported a a 3.7 percent decrease in net income of $158 million, or $1.15 per share, in the fiscal third quarter ended June 30. Net earnings were $164 million, or $1.20 per share, for the same quarter last year. Sales for the quarter, though, increased by 12 percent to $1.26 billion, primarily due to the acquisition of ARINC Inc. For the first nine months of the fiscal year, the company reported a net income of $437 million, or $3.19 per share, down from $457 million, or $3.30 per share, for the same period the previous year. The company now expects fiscal 2014 earnings per share to be in the range of $4.45 to $4.55, up from a previous projection of $4.40 to $4.55.
