Jill Goedken is an award-winning architect with a flair for office management and a penchant for community involvement.

"Jill brings incredible energy to the table, leading by example and inspiring those around her," wrote Brian Clark, president of the Confluence Inc. architectural firm. "In spite of her busy schedule and growing family, Jill is relentless in making Des Moines a better place and always finds time to support local organizations and projects."

Goedken has won awards for her work on the University of Iowa Hall of Fame/Visitors Center in Iowa City and the Figge Art Center in Davenport, both of which she designed and managed through construction.

In addition, she manages the staff at Invision Architecture's Des Moines office, is a member of the board and assists with recruiting and hiring, in-house intern development and education, as well as the planning of office events.

Goedken has been a member of the Junior League of Des Moines since 1999, and a volunteer with the Two Rivers Art Expo and Impact Des Moines. She is a graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute, where she took a leadership role in building a playground at Blank Park Zoo.

In addition, she is active with the American Institute of Architects and the organization's Central Iowa chapter.

"I have been impressed with her professionalism, ability to handle complicated tasks and to coordinate multifaceted issues," wrote Steven Prater, project manager at Iowa State University, where Goedken was involved in the $48 million addition to the university's large animal hospital and the $45 million remodeling and addition to its small animal hospital.

"Jill has a reputation of dealing with contractors and consultants fairly, and is held in high regard," Prater said.
