Young Professionals: Chuck Grassley Event
Sen. Charles Grassley was invited to give a “no spin” talk to a group of young professionals last month regarding the state of the economy, how we got here and what is being done to address the problems. Gabriel Glynn and Jennie Smith organized the hour-long event, which included a question-and-answer session with about 35 young professionals in attendance at Impromptu Studio. Glynn, who is a member of several young professional organizations in Greater Des Moines, said the group was looking for candid answers from Grassley and that political affiliation wasn’t considered when putting together the guest list. Instead of relying on the national media, Glynn and Smith hope events such as this will help up-and-coming local leaders recognize and prepare for future financial crises.
