The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau and Des Moines Area Sports Commission this week honored 14 people and businesses for helping to promote area tourism and bring visitors here in 2014-15. Those recognized include: Chris Draper and Jeremiah Johnson, USA Rugby; Polk County Administrator Mark Wandro;  Don Short, West End Architectural Salvage; DuPont Pioneer; Dan Houston, Principal Financial Group Inc.; Midwest Living magazine; Orchestrate Hospitality; state Rep. Peter Cownie; Chow’s Gymnastics Booster Club; and Marilyn Schroeder, Lutheran Women.
