The American Heart Association’s Central Iowa office has received a $15,000 charitable grant, which it will use to purchase 546 infant CPR training kits for Central Iowa hospitals to distribute to expecting parents. The grant from the Alma Pedretti Charitable Foundation enables the association to provide the kits to six Central Iowa hospitals: Iowa Health – Des Moines; Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines; Skiff Medical Center, Newton, Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames; Dallas County Hospital, Perry; and Boone County Hospital, Boone. The Infant CPR Anytime kits are a self-directed learning program that is provided in both English and Spanish. Hospitals will begin distributing the kits in May.
