Two Midwest-based construction design firms Built Solutions and Mercer Zimmerman have announced a partnership between the two companies. The partnership follows the purchase of Built Interior Construction by an affiliate company of Mercer Zimmerman, which specializes in lighting and controls. Under its new ownership, the company will move forward operating as Built Solutions, with Chad Thacker leading as president. Built Solutions designs and installs modular interiors using DIRTT products, which are used to create sustainable interior spaces. Both are headquartered in Overland Park, Kan. Built Solutions employs 17 people, and Mercer Zimmerman, which has been the DIRTT partner in Iowa and South Dakota for the past two years, has added its five-person DIRTT team to Built. Those five employees will maintain offices in Iowa and be led by branch manager Brandis Baldwin, a spokesperson said in an email. Built’s territory consists of Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Central and Southern Illinois and South Dakota, with showrooms in Overland Park, St. Louis and Des Moines.
