$48.5 million in research tax credits issued in 2010
The state of Iowa issued nearly $48.5 million in Research Activities Tax Credits in 2010, which was six times the dollar amount of credits issued in 2009, according to a report released last Friday by the Iowa Department of Revenue. Last year, a total of 177 companies and 761 individuals claimed $48,461,731 in credits. Nine companies received the bulk of those credits, $39.7 million. Cedar Rapids-based Rockwell Collins Inc. claimed the largest amount of research tax credits, $14.2 million.
