The city of West Des Moines has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. It is the 27th straight year the city has received the certificate, which this year was for West Des Moines’ annual financial report for the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2019. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition for excellence in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
