Hy-Vee Inc., the West Des Moines-based grocery store chain, plans to hire 10,000 people to fill part-time and full-time positions in its eight-state region. About 1,500 of the new positions will be in the Des Moines area, the retailer said in a news release. Workers are also needed to fill positions in Hy-Vee’s Chariton and Cherokee distribution centers. “Hy-Vee is adapting to meet the evolving needs of its customers who plan to shop differently this holiday season and beyond,” Hy-Vee said in the news release.
