Elwell Foundation donates $10,000 matching gift to Alzheimer’s Association
The Alzheimer’s Association Iowa Chapter has received a $10,000 matching gift by the Denny and Candy Elwell Foundation in Ankeny. The foundation will match up to $10,000 donated to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraiser in Iowa. Both Denny Elwell, an Ankeny real estate developer and entrepreneur, and his wife, Candy, have a family history of Alzheimer’s. The gift will help fund research, programs and resources for the more than 66,000 Iowans affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia and the more than 136,000 Alzheimer’s caregivers. This year has been particularly hard for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia, said Doug Bickford, executive director of the association’s Iowa chapter. “This donation will help to provide much needed support to the caregivers who have had to find new and creative ways to care for their loved ones during quarantine, as well as help to continue important research to find new treatments, and ultimately a cure.” To donate and double your impact with the match, visit the Iowa Walk to End Alzheimer’s website.
