The Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation has awarded 24 nonprofit organizations across Iowa a total of $500,000 through its Health Equity and Nonprofit Strengthening and Resilience grant programs. Oral health and overall health organizations receiving the awards are focused on serving populations disproportionately affected by the pandemic. The funds are part of the foundation’s continued response to the needs of the nonprofit community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization said in a release. “Across the state, nonprofits are stepping up to provide increased health care access and wellness education, covering gaps further widened by the economic constraints of the pandemic, especially for vulnerable populations,” said Jeff Russell, president of Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation. The Health Equity grants support the short-term, immediate needs most affected by the pandemic, while the Nonprofit Strengthening and Resilience grants provide stabilizing funding so the nonprofits can plan for their future. Each program awards up to $25,000 per organization. A full list of the grant recipients can be found at this link.
