Previous records were set in 2006 when 196 permits were issued and in 2016 when the value of permits issued totaled $32.8 million. “This year’s growth can be greatly attributed to our City’s completed housing study which paints a clear picture of our community’s residential and multi-family needs,” Community Development Director Madeline Sturms said in a prepared statement. Specifically in 2020, Pleasant Hill issued 209 residential permits valued at $36.7 million; five commercial permits valued at $7 million; three multifamily permits valued at $15.6 million; and one industrial permit valued at $300,000.
