According to a news release, the collaboration makes the Clive-based Peoples the first land management company to offer carbon credits. The release says CIBO is a technology company that delivers insights on U.S. cropland. Peoples is a land transaction and advisory firm. According to the release, the initial enrollment of more than 20,000 managed acres in the CIBO Impact platform creates the potential for $400,000 of new revenue for owners and operators in the first year when all credits are verified and sold. Additionally, Peoples and the Massachusetts-based CIBO are working together to create partial incentive pre-payments for enrolled land. Under the partnership, for the first time, growers and owners will be eligible to receive immediate incentive payments against expected future sales of carbon credits.
