The Wellmark Foundation has opened applications for two Matching Assets to Community Health (MATCH) grant programs. MATCH grants are designed to support large projects that build community and address health needs in Iowa and South Dakota. Recipients match the grants. The term “matching grant” means an organization is required to raise some money to match the grant amount. Grants are in two categories, one for up to $100,000 (deadline 5 p.m. Feb. 22) and another for up to $25,000 (deadline 5 p.m. June 7). Projects often address locally sourced foods, improved transportation, better nutrition at schools and safe recreation venues.
