Douglas Avenue to close for repaving project
Douglas Avenue between Merle Hay Road and 30th Street is scheduled to be closed the next two weekends for a repaving project, the Iowa DOT announced today. Douglas Avenue is also U.S. Highway 6, and motorists will be asked to follow a marked detour using Merle Hay Road, Hickman Road and 30th Street. The scheduled times for the closure are 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday each of the next two weekends, July 23-26 and July 30 to Aug. 2.
