The nonprofit Avenues of Ingersoll & Grand is hiring an executive director to promote economic development in the Des Moines business and residential area. The group is a collaboration of business and property owners, professionals, merchants, residents and others in promoting the area between Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and 43rd Street. It also oversees the area’s self-supported municipal improvement district. Kris Maggard, the group’s previous — and first — executive director, is now the Iowa Newspaper Association’s sales and marketing director. Maggard had been with the Avenues since August 2019.
