Iowa’s COVID-19 hospitalizations highest since January

According to data from the Iowa Department of Public Health, there are 396 COVID-19 patients hospitalized across the state, up from 355 the week before. The last time the state saw similar numbers was Jan. 27 when 408 people were hospitalized. Iowa added an average of 814 COVID-19 cases a day over the last week — the highest average since February and even higher than the weekly average recorded during the same time a year ago when vaccines were not yet available in Iowa, according to weekly figures released today by the state.
