Amazon to cover 100% of college tuition for hourly U.S. workers
CNBC: E-commerce giant Amazon Inc. today announced it will offer to pay 100% of college tuition for its 750,000 hourly employees located in the U.S. Amazon, which has several distribution centers and delivery stations in Iowa, said in a release that beginning January 2022 it would pay for college tuition, fees and textbooks for hourly employees who have worked for the company for at least 90 days. It will also begin covering high school diploma programs, GEDs and English as a second language certifications for employees. Other retailers, including Target and Walmart, have made similar announcements in recent months. The perk is among the ways employers are attempting to attract and retain workers in a tight job market.
