MarketWatch: President Joe Biden on Thursday unveiled new vaccine mandates as he warned of a “tough stretch” for the country in the fight against the delta variant of the coronavirus. Biden, speaking at the White House, rolled out what the administration called a “six-pronged strategy” to help combat the virus. Biden discussed a rule being developed by the Department of Labor that will require businesses with 100 or more workers to ensure their employees are vaccinated or show a negative test result weekly or more frequently. The roughly 17 million health-care workers who work at Medicare- or Medicaid-participating facilities will also have to be vaccinated, according to the White House. Schools are also being called on to set up regular testing for teachers, staff and students. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s tracker, 62.5% of people 12 and older are fully vaccinated; 73.4% have had at least one dose of the vaccine.
