More than $2.2 million has been raised for inclusive amenities at Waukee’s 66-acre Triumph Park, located north of Hickman Road and east of North 10th Street. In an effort to raise the remaining $380,000 needed for the amenities, the Waukee Betterment Foundation is hosting “Headed for Home,” a free event that will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 30 at Kinship Brewing, 255 N.W. Sunrise Drive in Waukee. The event will feature an existing donor recognition celebration that begins at 5:30 p.m. Inclusive amenities at the park include an inclusive playground, Greater Iowa Credit Union Miracle League Field and accessible fishing pier. The park is scheduled to open in June. The fundraising event is free but attendees are encouraged to preregister.
