Vermeer CEO: Infrastructure bill would be ‘transformative’
The proposed federal infrastructure bill would be “transformative” in the same way that rural electrification was, the leader of Iowa-based Vermeer Corp. said during a national manufacturing industry event, the Iowa Capital Dispatch reported. Jason Andringa, president and CEO of the Pella-based equipment maker, spoke at an online news conference held by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. Andringa leads an infrastructure task force and serves on the board of the Milwaukee-based trade association. “I see this opportunity as being just as transformative as the period of rural electrification and bringing water and sewer to all residences in the United States,” he said. Democrats and Republicans are trying to negotiate a deal that could top $1 trillion after President Joe Biden’s original $2 trillion proposal stalled.
