Public input sought on Transportation Improvement Programs

The Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and Central Iowa Regional Transportation Planning Alliance are seeking public input on their 2021-2024 Transportation Improvement Programs. An online public meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on June 24, and residents can join at gotomeet.me/dmampo1/tip-public-meeting. You can also dial in using your phone at 224-501-3412, access code 565-157213. The transportation improvement programs contain four years of projects that the member governments of the MPO and CIRTPA plan to implement using federal funds. The MPO and CIRTPA update the plans annually at the member governments’ request.The programs may include street, highway, transit, rail, bicycle and pedestrian projects in the agencies’ planning area boundaries. The FFY 2021-2024 Draft TIPs are viewable on the MPO and CIRTPA websites, www.dmampo.org and www.cirtpa.org, or by calling 515-334-0075 or emailing schakraborty@dmampo.org. The public can share their opinion with the MPO and CIRTPA staff orally through the online meeting or by submitting written comments to the MPO or CIRTPA after the June 24 meeting but before the close of the comment period on July 11 for the MPO and July 15 for CIRTPA.
