CRE Weekly launches new interactive feature

The Business Record this week is launching a new feature in CRE Weekly – an interactive map and database of commercial building permits issued by 13 Central Iowa communities in the first six months of 2020.

The interactive map includes information about the value of the permits issued, what type of work is being done and the date the permit was issued. Links are included to stories we’ve done on some of the projects.

The new feature includes a sortable spreadsheet. You can find out information like how many projects did the Des Moines school district start this year (15) and what was the value of the projects ($14.89 million); what work is Iowa Farm Bureau doing at is West Des Moines campus (spending more than $12.1 million to do a complete remodel of its east wing); or how many new projects are underway (at least 80, including the construction of a new middle school in Bondurant, a $1.9 million office-warehouse in Waukee and a new Glow Car Wash Express in Urbandale).

The map and spreadsheet will be updated monthly.

Like what you see? Let us know. Think a project is missing? Let us know that as well by reaching out to senior staff writer Kathy A. Bolten at kathybolten@bpcdm.com or associate editor Emily Barske at emilybarske@bpcdm.com.
