Des Moines Register: President Donald Trump said today that he has approved Iowa’s application for a major federal disaster declaration in the aftermath of last week’s derecho. “I just approved an emergency declaration for Iowa, who had an incredible wind storm like probably they’ve never seen before. It really did a lot of damage,” Trump told reporters this morning, according to a White House transcript of his remarks. The president will visit Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, a White House official confirmed.
