Des Moines Register: State officials have no plans to publicly report coronavirus outbreaks at schools the way they do for outbreaks at nursing homes. Instead, the state is leaving any such reporting up to local school districts and health departments. Officials at the Iowa State Education Association, a union that represents teachers, contends that the public’s health is endangered by the lack of a transparent, centralized reporting system for school coronavirus cases.
