The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s eighth annual Inclusion Summit is planned for Nov. 10. The summit, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is in collaboration with United Way of Central Iowa’s 21-Day Equity Challenge, which will run Oct. 5 through Nov. 2. The theme of this year’s summit is “Rising to the Equity Challenge.” Organizers say the summit will aim to create a community conversation about going beyond the work of diversity and inclusion and beginning the path to equity. Sessions will include three keynote speakers, and participants will hear from a panel of young leaders on equity issues in the community. There will also be an opportunity to discuss issues such as housing, health care, employment, justice and wealth. According to a news release, speakers will include Eddie Moore, who is recognized as one of the nation’s top speakers and educators; Laura Morgan Roberts, an innovative global scholar and consultant on the science of maximizing human potential in diverse organizations and communities; and Caroline Wanga, interim CEO of Essence Communications Inc.
