April is Iowa Architecture Month, and the American Institute of Architects Iowa chapter has planned several architectural workshops, tours, films and lecture series and will continue the AIA Iowa People’s Choice Award. In addition, AIA Iowa’s spring conference is set for April 18 at Iowa State University. AIA Iowa People’s Choice Award is designed to promote architecture and to encourage appreciation and interaction with buildings within the state. AIA Iowa invites the public to serve as the jury and to judge architecture built by Iowa architects throughout the month of April. Anyone can vote once per project per day atIowaArchitecture.org. Winners will be announced at the end of the month. In addition to the People’s Choice Award, AIA Iowa has planned events that promote the exploration of Iowa’s architectural treasures. National Architecture week, April 21-27, is just one part of AIA Iowa’s monthlong spotlight on the contributions architects make to our communities and society in general.
