The Des Moines Water Works Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet this afternoon to consider proposed rate increases for 2021. Today’s meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on the virtual platform Zoom. According to an Oct. 5 memo from Water Works Chief Financial Officer Peggy Freese to CEO and General Manager Ted Corrigan, rates should be increased across all customer classes to meet the cost of providing service. If approved, rates would increase from 5% for Des Moines customers. A copy of the memo describing the rate increases for the various customer classes can be found here. The meeting on Zoom can be accessed here.
