A touch of sunshine helped boost home sales and pending sales in March from numbers posted in February, according to a report from the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors. Prices also increased last month, as did the number of homes listed for sale. “The second half of March saw much better weather and more people looking to buy and sell. Active listings were up from February and up from March of last year. We look forward to more activity in the market in April,” DMAAR President Jenn Clark said in a release. According to the association, 907 homes sold in March, compared with 703 in February, while pending sales rose to 1,479 from 937. Both categories were below year-ago numbers. The median price of homes that sold in March was $209,900, up from $194,950 in February and $193,500 in March 2018. Listings increased to 3,344 last month from 3,329 in February. Houses that sold last month had been on the market an average 77 days compared with 70 in February.
