The Science Center of Iowa has received a $15,000 Community Action Grant from Facebook’s Altoona Data Center for Senior STEM, a new project educating older adults on current technology, SCI announced this morning.

165 wordsAll Latest News, Business Community Events, Real Estate and DevelopmentThe annual Architecture on the Move walking tour of downtown Des Moines kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday beginning at the Iowa Center for Architecture’s office at Capital Square, 400 Locust St., Suite 100. The tour, which began in 2003, offers participants the option of walking one of four routes:
• North, which will include the Catholic Pastoral Center and Principal’s corporate campus.
• South, which will include Court Avenue, the Warehouse District and Polk County Courthouse.
• East, which will include East Village and public buildings along the Des Moines Riverwalk.
• West, which will include the Temple for Performing Arts, Hotel Fort Des Moines and Central Library.
In addition to Friday’s tour, tours will also be held on June 7, July 12, Aug. 9 and Sept. 13. The June 7 tour will start at the Krause Gateway Center, 459 Grand Ave. Tours last about 90 minutes and cost $20. Tickets can be purchased in advance on Eventbrite.
