SelectQuote Insurance Services Inc., an insurance brokerage based in Overland Park, Kan., recently opened a regional sales office in West Des Moines, with plans to staff the facility with about 120 employees. The West Des Moines location at 3001 Westown Parkway will initially focus on selling Medicare policies during the open enrollment season this fall, but plans to add life insurance and home/auto policy sales, said Rachel Spear, the company’s strategic communications officer. Founded in 1985, the brokerage’s primary specialty is direct marketing of life insurance, representing a number of life insurance companies. Most of the positions hired will be temporary initially, but the company’s goal is to retain about 80% of the workers for long-term roles in the organization, Spear said. The brokerage is hiring for inside sales, sales support, enrollment reps, customer care agents and quality assurance support. SelectQuote also has sales offices in San Francisco, San Diego, Centennial, Colo., and Jacksonville, Fla.
