SBA backs $2.3M in loans
The U.S. Small Business Administration in June backed nine private loans for mostly small projects in Central Iowa.
The $2.3 million in loans was for projects expected to create a combined 17 jobs and to retain 55.
None of the loans topped $1 million. The largest was for GRIT Performance 515 LLC, an Indianola fitness and recreation center that borrowed $929,000 and plans to create eight jobs and retain five.
Da King Kettlestone LLC of Waukee, a snack and beverage stop, borrowed $885,000. The firm plans to retain 10 jobs.
Statewide, the SBA backed 36 private loans for a combined total just under $7.8 million. The projects are expected to create 59 jobs and retain 241.
