Variety — the Children’s Charity has awarded $1.8 million in grants to 59 Iowa children’s charities. The grants include the first of five installments in a $1 million, five-year grant for ChildServe, which is raising $10 million — its biggest campaign — to develop a pediatric behavioral health clinic. Variety helps underprivileged, at-risk and special needs children throughout Iowa. Money from private and corporate donations and grants go to programs to help the youths. Variety grants provide funds for capital projects, essential medical equipment, shelters, inclusive playground, minivans and special children’s programs. Here is a list of all grant recipients.
