Khosravi named chief medical officer for Clive Behavioral Health

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center and Universal Health Services recently announced that Dr. Sasha Khosravi has been named chief medical officer of the Clive Behavioral Health facility, which is scheduled to open in November 2020. Khosravi will assume the role on a full-time basis beginning in summer 2020. The 100-bed facility, currently under construction, is a partnership of MercyOne and UHS to address the need for accessible behavioral health services. Khosravi, a Des Moines University graduate, is currently department chair for MercyOne Behavioral Health and medical director of the pediatric division. He joined MercyOne in 2006 and has been instrumental in multiple initiatives to broaden services and expand its role in behavioral health treatment. He is also committed to advocacy and is part of the Iowa Psychiatry Society, serving as past chair of its legislative committee. He also consults with multiple school districts and was recently awarded a Distinguished Service Award at the 2019 Midwest Regional School Conference.
