Looking at one Southwest flight illuminates some of the reasons we’ve seen those trends, the Wall Street Journal reports. Scott McCartney reports that staffing shortages and not being fully prepared for travel trends to pick back up so quickly are two of the main causes. Because of this, the airline is planning to offer fewer flights for the holidays, which should leave more than 20% of its crews on reserve.
