The Central Iowa Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Philanthropy Awards today honored award recipients that exemplify generosity, commitment and determination that enhance the lives of countless Iowans. The honorees were recognized at the organization’s annual luncheon.

The following awards were announced:

• Outstanding Individual Philanthropist: Mary Kay (posthumously) and Douglas G. Bruce.
• Outstanding Corporate Philanthropy: Hubbell Realty Co.
• Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser: Tom Mahoney.
• Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy: Vidya Iyer.

Under the direction of Christian Vandehaar, Bondurant-Farrar High School art instructor, and with the support of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, four students were selected to create this year’s National Philanthropy Day awards. Each piece is inspired and embodies the philanthropic spirit of the recipient.
